CopperLink 2174 Series Ethernet Extender Kits offer fast, long range multi-rate connections with line rates up to 144 or 168Mbps (symmetrical/asymmetrical) over a single twisted-pair voice-grade wire. Model 2174-2PK has dual 10/100Mbps RJ-45 ports.

Designed for bandwidth-intensive applications, CopperLink™ 2174 Series Ethernet Extenders deliver high speed symmetrical line rates up to 121/144Mbps, and a maximum asymmetrical line speed of 168Mbps. Model 2174-2PK is a complete Ethernet Extender Kit with paired Local and Remote devices, both offering dual RJ-45 ports.

The CopperLink 2174 Ethernet Extender comprises five models, all of which leverage existing copper infrastructure to deliver high speed Ethernet connectivity over voice-grade twisted pair, Cat 5e/6/7, or coaxial cabling. Two models additional provide POTS support (2174/S-2PK and 2174/TB/S-2PK). All models feature four user-selectable configuration profiles which - combined with Patton's auto-rate adaptation feature - ensure maximum achievable symmetrical or asymmetrical rates for the installed noise environment, wire gauge/type and length.

Symmetrical line-rate settings are ideal for such applications as remote LAN extension, video teleconferencing, and data backhaul. Asymmetrical configurations are well-suited for applications requiring higher downstream speeds and/or longer distances between Ethernet devices. Typical symmetrical scenarios include medical imaging, livestock monitoring, underwater video, internet gaming, and transporting high-resolution IP video from security cameras.
