CopperLink 2173R Ethernet Extenders are a hardened solution for long range multi-rate connections in tough environments, with line rates up 70 or 100Mbps (a symmetrical or symmetrical). The 2173R is a replacement Remote Extender Device.

The 2173R is a Remote CopperLink 2173R Extender, and can be used paired with a 2173R/E Local Extender, or to replace a Remote Extender unit from a 2173R-2PK Copperlink 2173R Series Ruggedised Ethernet Extender Kit.

The CopperLink™ 2173R Series is the ruggedised version of Patton's fastest Ethernet Extender. It leverages existing twisted-pair copper cable infrastructure to deliver high-speed Ethernet extension. Providing up to 70/70Mbps symetmetrical or 100Mbps/70Mbps asymmetrical data rate speeds and offering an extended temperature range from -40 to 85°C and a sturdy aluminum case, the 2173R Extender is the perfect solution for delivering tripleplay communications services and other bandwidth-intensive applications in rugged environments.

2173R Series Extenders includes an auto-rate adaptation feature providing the maximum achievable asymmetrical line rate based on environment and the length and gauge/type of cable. Asymmetrical line rates are the ideal solution for applications that require longer extension between their Ethernet devices and for applications that primarily involve high downstream requirements. These asymmetrical applications include high resolution IP video for security, medical imaging, livestock monitoring and underwater video. Also included in the Model 2173R is the ability to configure the Ethernet Extender for hard set 25, 50 or 70Mbps symmetrical line rates. Typical symmetrical applications include remote LAN extension, video teleconferencing, and data backhaul.
